Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that remains a public health problem in the working area of Makarti Jaya Health Center, Banyuasin Regency. TB transmission is influenced by household environmental factors and community behavior. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the use of biomass fuel, physical housing conditions (ventilation, lighting, housing density), and community knowledge level with the incidence of pulmonary TB. Thisresearch employed an analytical observational design with a case-control approach. The study population consisted of 1,000 residents in the working area of Makarti Jaya Health Center, while the sample comprised 109 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and direct observation, and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was no relationship between the use of biomass fuel and the incidence of pulmonary TB. However, there was a relationship between household ventilation, lighting, housing density, and knowledge level with the incidence of pulmonary TB in the working area of Makarti Jaya Health Center. This study is expected to provide input for Makarti Jaya Health Center and local government in reducing TB transmission through improving housing conditions (ventilation, lighting, and housing density) and enhancing community health education.
