GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN REMAJA TENTANG HIV/AIDS DI SMA NEGERI 1 SALEM BREBES

Background: HIV/AIDS cases increase every year. In Central Java Province, the highest number of HIV infections is found among adolescents aged 15 to 19 years, with 741 adolescents. Meanwhile, in Brebes Regency in 2022, there were 145 cases of HIV/AIDS. The spread of HIV/AIDS is very concerning, so it needs to be controlled by providing knowledge to adolescents to avoid HIV/AIDS risk factors. Objective: To determine the description of adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS at SMA Negeri 1 Salem Brebes. Method: This study is a descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 84 adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Salem Brebes. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. The instrument used a questionnaire adopted from previous research. Data analysis used univariate analysis with frequency and percentage distribution. Results: Based on the results of the analysis of 84 respondents, the majority were 16 years old (60 people (71.4%) and female (46 people (54.8%). The majority of respondents' knowledge about HIV/AIDS was in the good category (81 people (96.4%), while 3 people (3.6%) had poor knowledge. Conclusion: Overall, adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Salem Brebes have a good level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS.
