Implementasi Safe Operation Forklift Berdasarkan OSHA 2016 Di PT X

When operating a forklift, there is a risk of injury, even death. Therefore, it is important to operate forklifts safely by paying attention to various factors, such as operator skills, forklift conditions, work environment, and safety rules. OSHA 2016 is a forklift operating procedure document that applies very complex operating standards which consist of requirements related to operator training, daily checks before use, maintenance and routine repairs, use of seat belts, specified haulage capacity, and the use of all types of trucks. The purpose of this study was to determine suitability in the implementation of safe operation forklifts based on the 2016 OSHA standard procedures at PT X. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with a phenomenological approach, data collection techniques in the form of observation, documentation and in-depth interviews with assessment sheets. The results of this study indicate that in the implementation of safe operating forklifts, the results of conformity with OSHA related to Pre-operation are 90%, traveling and maneuvering are 90%, load handling are 92%, and work area are 100%. From this research, it can be concluded that the implementation of safe operation of forklifts at PT X is not fully compliant with OSHA 2016.
