HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT PADA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS SUKRA KABUPATEN INDRAMAYU

Abstract

There are currently 600 million hypertension sufferers worldwide, while in Indonesia there are 713,783 cases. The number of patients who experience relapse and undergo treatment in hospital shows that there is still a lack of adherence to treatment, medication adherence is very important in treatment to achieve controlled blood pressure. The progression of hypertension can be reduced by several factors, one of which is family support which has a positive effect on disease control. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and medication adherence in patients with hypertension.

This research is a quantitative research, with analytical descriptive method with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all hypertensive patients in the working area of the Sukra Public Health Center, Indramayu Regency. The sample of this study was 91 respondents who were taken using random sampling technique. This instrument uses a questionnaire sheet. The analysis used is univariate and bivariate. The results showed that 51 (56%) respondents received family support and as many as 39 (56.0%) respondents were obedient in taking medication. The results of the bivariate test showed that the P- value = 1000 (α = 0.01).

Result : There is no significant relationship between family support and medication adherence in the working area of Sukra Public Health Center, Indramayu Regency. Suggestions for further researchers to examine other factors that affect drug adherence.
